I. INTRODUCTION

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes the privacy practices of Ohio Business Roundtable (“OBRT,” “we,” “us,” “our”) in relation to the use of the OBRT website, which is accessible at www.ohiobrt.com and any other websites (including but not limited to www.ohioceosummit.com) that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Site”). It also explains how OBRT collects, uses, and shares your personal information and other information, and the choices that are available to you.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time (see “Revisions to our Privacy Policy” below). Please check the “Last Updated” legend at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Policy was last revised. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will become effective when we post the revised Privacy Policy on the Site. Your use of the Site after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Privacy Policy periodically for updates. If any term in this Privacy Policy is unacceptable to you, please do not access or use the Site or provide any personal information to OBRT.

II. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit and interact with our Site, we collect information about you, including personal information. “Personal Information” means information that specifically identifies you or, when combined with other information we have, can be used to identify, locate, or contact you.  The Personal Information we collect depends on the context of your interactions with the Site and the choices you make, the services and features you use, your location, and applicable laws, but can include the following:

Personal Information You Provide

  • Registration and Account Information. When you register an account with OBRT, voluntarily sign up to receive one of our newsletters or e-mail alerts or interact with or use the Site, we may collect contact information such as your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, organization and other similar information you voluntarily provide so that we can communicate with you.

  • Log In Credential Information. When you register with OBRT, we may also collect information such as the login credentials to your Site account.

  • Billing Information. When you purchase tickets to attend or sponsor one of our live events, or purchase products on our Site, we collect billing information such as your name, postal address, credit card or bank account information. When you provide or update your payment processing information, we transmit the payment via an encrypted connection to a third-party credit card processor. OBRT does not collect or store your full credit card details.

  • Communication Information. When you connect with us, we collect certain contact and other communication-related information you provide such as your name, e-mail address and phone number. We also collect records and copies of your correspondence such as when you contact us with an inquiry about our Site or services or to report a problem with our Site.

  • Event and Sponsorship Information. When you register to attend or sponsor one of our live events, including, but not limited to, the Ohio CEO Summit, we may collect contact information such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, job title and organization and similar personal identifiers you provide.

  • Third Parties. We also may combine the Personal Information that we have collected about you with other information about you obtained from other sources (both online and offline), such as from third parties and public sources. For example, if you connect with us on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, so that we can provide you with news and other updates on these platforms, we may use the platforms’ data analytics and advertising tools to obtain Personal Information about you such as your demographics, interests, location and other characteristics, to use for research and analytical purposes, as well as for targeted or online behavioral advertising on other websites.

  • Other Information. We may collect other Personal Information we specifically request or you voluntarily provide.

You are not required to provide us with any Personal Information that we request from you. However, failure to provide such information may limit what we are able to do for you. For example, refusing to provide your e-mail address may prevent us from providing you with important information about the Site and our services.

Information We Collect Automatically

As you navigate through and interact with the Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns, including:

  • Device Information. When you use and access our Site, we receive information about your device, which may include your web browser type, operating system version, device model, device manufacturer and model, language and regional settings, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), and unique device identifiers.

  • Usage Information. We automatically receive information about your interactions with our Site including details of your visits to our Site, traffic data, location data, logs, language, date and time of access, frequency and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Site.

  • Details of Referring Websites (URL). We also may use these technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or other online services (behavioral tracking).

  • Location Data. We infer your location from information we collect (for example, your IP address can be used by us to indicate the general geographic region from which you are connecting to the Internet). We aggregate and anonymize your location data at the regional level. We may use location information to provide you with notifications, or other content that is influenced by your location.

Cookies and Other Technologies

When you use our Site, we and our third-party service providers may collect information from you through the following ways:

  • Cookies: We may collect some information from you using a "cookie.” “Cookies” are small bits of data cached or stored on your computer based on Internet activity. They can be placed on your computer both by us and by third parties with whom we have a relationship, such as web analytic services and advertising network services. Cookies help us track and understand how individuals use and interact with our Sites and otherwise manage our Sites. We use single-session (temporary) cookies. Temporary cookies last only as long as your web browser is open and are used for technical purposes such as enabling better navigation on our Site. Once you close your browser, the cookie disappears. We also may use multi-session (persistent) cookies on our Site. Persistent cookies are stored on your computer or device for longer periods and are used for purposes including session management (for example, to recognize you and recall your individual login information and preferences) and tracking the number of unique visitors to our Site and information such as the number of views a page gets, how much time a user spends on a page, and other pertinent web statistics. This information identifies your web browser to our servers when you visit the Site and also helps us to remember your preferences from session to session to provide an enhanced user experience. For more information on your choices regarding the use of cookies, please see the Section “Your Choices” below.

  • Web Beacons: We also collect information using web beacons (also referred to as gifs and pixels), alone or in conjunction with cookies. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular website or service tied to the web beacon, and a description of a website or service tied to the web beacon. For example, we may place web beacons in marketing e-mails that notify us when you click on a link in the e-mail that directs you to our Website. We use web beacons to understand usage, and to operate and improve our Site and e-mail communications.

  • Website Analytics: We use third-party web analytics services on the Site such as Google Analytics. These service providers help us analyze how visitors use the Site. The information obtained for this purpose (including your IP address and other information collected by automated means) may be disclosed to or collected directly by these service providers. To provide this service, Google Analytics may collect certain information about you from your computer, including through the use of cookies. Such information may include information regarding your visit (such as the pages you visit and the length of your visit), information about your device (such as your IP address), how you got to the Site, and other information about you. You can learn more about Google Analytics and how it collects and processes data (including how to control the information sent to Google) by visiting: www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/. You can opt-out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available here.

  • Social Media Plug-ins: We may use social media plug-ins on our Site to enable you to easily share information with others. We use the information collected from the plug-ins to learn about your interests and to help us better understand how to serve you. This information may include your preferences about how to contact you or further develop a business or professional relationship with you, your product preferences, languages, marketing preferences, and some demographic data. These plug-ins may include those from companies like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The social media plug-ins may allow these companies to receive directly identifiable Personal Information about you and your visit to our Site. When you visit our Site, the operators of the social media plug-ins on our Site place cookies on your computer that enable them to recognize you on websites belonging to them and their affiliates and partners after you have visited our Site, or that enable them to add the information collected from your visit to our Site with your prior activity on those websites. The social media plug-ins collect this information about users whether they specifically interact with the plug-in or not, and it may enable social media companies to share information about your web-browsing navigational information with some of their other users. OBRT does not control what information is collected by the social media plug-ins or the information practices adopted by those social media companies. For more information about social plug-ins from social media websites, you should refer to those companies’ privacy and data sharing statements.

Where OBRT has provided you with, or where you create, a password that enables you to access the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share this password with anyone who does not have authorized access to your Site account. You must prevent unauthorized access to your account and Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password information and limiting access to your device to unauthorized parties.

If you have reason to believe that your Personal Information is no longer secure or if you have any questions about the security of our Site, please notify us at the e-mail address provided in the “Contact Us” section below.

IX. DATA RETENTION

OBRT will retain Personal Information collected from you only as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which we have initially collected it, unless otherwise required by law. Because these needs can vary for different data types in the context of different services, actual retention periods can vary.

By using the Site, you represent that you are at least eighteen years old and understand that you must be at least eighteen years old in order to access and use our Site. If we obtain actual knowledge that a user is not at least eighteen years of age, we will promptly delete information associated with that user.

In all events, OBRT does not intend that any portion of its Site will be accessed or used by persons under the age of thirteen, and such use is prohibited. If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the age of thirteen and believe that he or she has disclosed Personal Information to us, please contact us at  info@ohiobrt.com. Accordingly, users are strongly encouraged to review our Privacy Policy regularly. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, the revised version will be effective the date it is posted, which is identified at the top of the page.
